John Baird, Canada’s Minister of Transportation, recently met with the new board of the Philippine-Canada Trade Council (PCTC) in a “ Meet-and-Greet “ function hosted by PCTC. Minister Baird gave a short speech about updates on some infrastructure projectsand the government’s job creation program. The minister also answered questions from some guestsabout regulations on the importation of some type of vehicles from other countries, and about Canada’s green initiatives. After the short program, PCTC President Mike Calingo presented Minister Baird with a unique token gift- a small replica of the Philippine jeepney. A good number ofPCTC members and guestswelcomed the minister during the first “ Meet-and-Greet ”functionof PCTC for the year.The function was held at The Coast Plaza Suites Hotel last Sunday, July 18, 2010.
